Seymour “Sy” Taub joined EisnerLubin in 1971 and became a partner in 1979. He provides tax and accounting services for high-net-worth individuals and businesses in the real estate and service industries. Sy also specializes in cost segregation and lease consulting. In addition, he offers advice on partnership structure and income tax planning, and handles cases involving tax controversy.
As the tax code continues to evolve in complexity, Sy praises the technology that helps process high volumes of information. “The taxation authorities have been able to modify statutes and audit procedures through innovations in information technology,” he observes. “The worlds of accounting and taxation have become more challenging, yet more rewarding at the same time.”
Sy’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he serves on the Partnership Tax Committee. He received his B.S. in accounting from Brooklyn College and later earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Sy resides in New Jersey. He is married with two grown children, and he enjoys gardening.
