Robert E. Demmett joined EisnerLubin in 1984 and became a partner in 1992. Now that EisnerLubin is a division of WithumSmith+Brown, PC, effective November 1, 2011, Bob is a WS+B partner. Bob specializes in tax and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals as well as handling tax and compliance issues for partnerships, corporations and other entities. In addition, Bob helps clients with business structure issues, as well as acquisitions and dispositions of businesses and FIN 48 compliance.
Bob joined the firm’s proof reading department as a college student. “I have been fortunate to grow with the firm,” he says. “I have had the opportunity to work with some terrific clients and have enjoyed getting the chance to help them realize their business and personal goals.” In recognition of Bob’s service to clients, he was honored by The New York Enterprise Report as one of the recipients of its inaugural “Best Accountants and Attorneys for Growing Businesses Awards” in June 2010.
Bob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has served as chairman of the Corporate Distributions, Liquidations and Reorganizations Committee with the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he lectures for the Foundation of Accounting Education and was an adjunct professor at Queens College Graduate School of the City University of New York.
Bob received his B.B.A. in accounting from Pace University and earned his M.S. in taxation from Baruch College of the City University of New York.
Bob has a wife and two children and lives in Long Island. In his spare time, Bob enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and working on his golf game.
