Barry H. Horowitz, CPA, MST, a partner with EisnerLubin llp, has been with the firm since 1981. He works with clients to develop tax saving strategies that enable them to meet their continually evolving financial goals. Effective November 1, 2011, when EisnerLubin became a division of WithumSmith+Brown, PC, Barry became a partner of WS+B.
An expert in state and local taxes, Barry advises clients in residency and nexus issues, entity level taxes, sales and use taxes, and other business and personal tax matters. He also counsels clients in strategic planning, transaction reviews, risk assessment, tax law compliance, and corporate restructuring.

As an active member of the New York and New Jersey chapters of the State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA and NJSCPA), Barry often provides in-depth lectures and learning sessions on key state and local tax issues. He is a current member of the NYSSCPA’s Multistate & Local Taxation Committee, and served as Chairman in prior years. He was formerly an appointed member of the Commissioner’s Advisory Council for both the NYS Department of Taxation & Finance and the NYC Department of Finance.
Working to expand the firm’s presence in the New Jersey market, Barry is a member of the NJ Tax Committee and other regional associations. He takes pride in his role as mentor to junior staff and helps them identify appropriate professional affiliations and develop business relationships.
Barry is a contributor for The Trusted Professional as well as several other industry and professional publications. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine and Crain’s New York Business. He was also a former editor of The CPA Journal.
Barry received his B.B.A., with honors, in Accounting and his M.S. in Taxation from Baruch College, New York City and is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey.
Barry has been a resident of Manalapan, NJ for over 25 years. He has two children, Joshua who graduated with an MBA from Ithaca College and is currently working for WithumSmith+Brown, and daughter Randi, a student at Indiana University.
