Alfred J. La Rosa joined EisnerLubin in 1983 and became a partner in the trust and estate practice in 1993. Following the November 1, 2011 firm merger making EisnerLubin a division of WithumSmith+Brown, PC, Al became a partner of WS+B. Al helps clients plan their estates to facilitate a smooth transfer of wealth through the use of creative gifting techniques. He assists clients, attorneys, executors and trustees in the accounting, taxation and administration of trusts and estates. He also focuses on estate and gift tax planning and charitable planning through the use of private foundations, split-interest trusts, and public charities.
When asked about the most gratifying aspect of his work, Al replied, “There is so much diversity to my work at the firm. Each situation is unique. This provides me with great opportunities to be creative in helping clients achieve their goals. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with our staff helping them expand their skills and grow professionally.”
Al is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Estate Planning Committee and the Trust and Estate Administration Committee for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a director of the Thomas and Jeanne Elmezzi Private Foundation and serves as an executor and trustee for various estates and trusts.
Al received his B.B.A. in accounting from Pace University, and earned an M.S. in taxation from Baruch College. A resident of Long Island, Al has two children.
